Position description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara is seeking applications for two tenure-track, assistant professor positions in the field of Computer Engineering with an effective appointment date of July 1, 2019.

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field by the time of appointment. Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants with a wide range of interests in Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply. Research areas related to machine learning, alternative computing, computer systems and architectures are of particular interest. Completed applications will consist of a cover letter, CV, brief (2-page limit) statement of teaching philosophy, brief (2-page limit) statement of research interests, and arrange for three to four letters of reference; applicants may also choose to submit a statement of diversity contributions.
