The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara is looking for a Professional Researcher, with mathematical expertise, in the areas of Dynamical Systems, Control, and Network Science. This is an open level search for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professional Researcher. It is expected that a successful candidate will bring an active research program at our institution supported by external funding. Candidates must have a strong and continuing publication record and long-term success in attracting grant funding. Candidates should also have a proven ability for collaborative and interdisciplinary research, as well as the leadership skills necessary for leveraging synergies within the Department and the College of Engineering. A successful candidate will have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, in the area(s) of Dynamical Systems, Control, and/or Network Science or a related field by the time of application.
Based on the individual's funding, the duration will be for a minimum of one year initially with the possibility of reappointment.
