Lecturers in Early-Modern European Art; Latin American Art; and/or Museum Studies
The Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for temporary, part-time lecturer position(s) for the 2019-20 academic year. Courses needed may include a large lower-division lecture course with teaching assistants, upper-division lecture courses without TAs and an undergraduate seminar. The fields to be taught include the following:
• Early-Modern (Renaissance) Italian Art
• Northern Renaissance Art
• Latin American Art (Colonial to Contemporary)
• Museum Studies
Basic qualifications: An MA in The History of Art/Architecture or a related field, and more than one year of teaching experience.
Preferred qualifications: A PhD in The History of Art and Architecture or a related field is desirable. Interested candidates should include a letter of application which clearly indicates which course or courses best fit their qualification; CV; Course Syllabi; and the names and telephone/email addresses for three professional references. Teaching evaluations are optional, if not provided with the initial application they may be requested at a later time.
The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.
