Lecturer: In French

DESCRIPTION
The Department of French and Italian at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for possible temporary Lecturer positions (part-time or full-time) should vacancies appear. Appointments will vary in percentage of time and will range from one quarter to one year, and from one course up to a maximum of eight courses a year, with the limited possibility of reappointment dependent on performance, departmental need, and funding.

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent foreign degree, in French, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, and have two years of teaching experience in a college or university at the time of application. Experience in Communicative Language Teaching, Direct Method, and Form-focused grammar instruction is preferable. Experience teaching upper division language and literature courses, French for Heritage Speakers, and French for speakers of Spanish is also desirable. Native-level proficiency in French is required. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, teaching statement, and contact information for 3 references. Teaching evaluations are optional (and will be required for finalists).
