Position description

The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a Postdoc position. Kim Lab at University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking a talented and motivated postdoc to study visuomotor computations using two-photon calcium imaging in tethered behaving Drosophila in a virtual reality arena. Skills necessary to perform rigorous behavioral and physiological data analysis and computational modeling are desirable. The university is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and services as appropriate to the position.

Qualifications for this position require a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or in related fields ( BME, EE, Physics, Computer Science, Psychology). Preferred qualifications for this position include: Strong experience and insight in physiology (not necessarily two-photon imaging) and quantitative data analysis. Strong experience in quantitative analysis of animal behavior. Strong desire and motivation to learn and perform physiology by him-/herself. Quantitative modeling/simulation experience
