The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in general Physics or Astronomy during the 2020-21 and 2021-2022 academic year, including summer session. Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the department for the 2020-2021and 2021-22 academic years, including Summer Session 2021. Positions may range from part time to full time.
Main duties will include teaching courses in general physics and astronomy, with the possibility of occasional upper-division teaching opportunities. Applicants should have at least an MA in Physics or Astronomy at the time of application. Preferred applicants will also have teaching experience at the college level.
The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
The position will remain open until October 31, 2021. Appointments for Fall quarter are usually reviewed in June, winter quarter in October, and Spring quarter review will begin in February.
