The Yu Emotion Science (YES) Lab at University of California, Santa Barbara, directed by Dr. Hongbo Yu, is seeking applications for an open, full-time position for a Junior Specialist with an anticipated start date of November 1, 2021. The salary is based on UCSB’s salary scales.
Participate fully in social psychology and cognitive neuroscience research. Responsibilities will include: assisting with study design and stimulus construction, assisting with recruiting and training undergraduate student RAs, scheduling, prescreening, and testing participants for behavioral and neuroimaging studies, data management, statistical analysis, assisting the PI and research team with presentations at lab meetings and at psychology and neuroscience conferences, and authorship on academic research articles.
Additional duties will include: contributing to administrative tasks of the lab, such as managing IRB protocols and reviews, and ordering, and maintaining lab supplies to assure all research projects and are executed properly.
Candidates must be able to work both independently and in collaboration with others, have strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service appropriate to the position.
A Bachelors degree in Psychology or a related field at the time of application.
