Position title: Lecturer

Position description

The Program in Latin American and Iberian Studies (LAIS) at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in the Latin American and Iberian Studies Program for upcoming openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department.

The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. The use of a lecturer pool does not guarantee that an open position exists at the time you are applying. If there is no future review date specified, your application may not be considered at this time.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. Also, please note that the Department cannot reimburse travel or moving expenses for interviewing or relocating to our campus and that benefits such as health insurance may only be allocated to full-time employees.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

At the time of application, applicants must possess at minimum a Doctoral degree in humanities or a social science discipline relating to Latin American Studies or equivalent degree and at least one year of teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications

Strong teaching skills, and compatibility with the needs of the program.
