Position description

The Teacher Education Program (TEP) at UCSB seeks a Capacity Grant Coordinator with experience in curriculum implementation or program development to help expand our program offerings in teacher education. This person would further develop our Spanish bilingual authorization pathway and assist in developing a dual credential pathway in special and general education.

The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Masters degree in Education or related field or teaching credential

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

At least one academic year of creation or implementation of curriculum or program development in a K-12 setting (e.g., a literacy program at a school site, a DLI program or academy within a school)
At least one academic year of experience with evaluating or assessing program effectiveness
Bilingual in Spanish and English (assessed on the CV, e.g., statement that candidate is bilingual in Spanish, teaching experience in a bilingual classroom)

Preferred qualifications

Experience developing educational partnerships (e.g., school-community partnerships)
Experience working with bilingual learners, preferably in a dual language immersion (DLI) classroom
Experience working in the field of special education, preferably in an inclusive setting
Experience working with teacher candidates or practicing classroom teachers
Demonstrated ability to participate in data-informed decision-making.
Knowledge of Santa Barbara County schools, school districts, and education organizations is highly desirable.
