Position description
The Department of Music seeks to appoint a French horn instructor for a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer position at The University of California, Santa Barbara, for the winter and spring 2025 quarters. Instructional duties will consist of teaching applied horn lessons. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Music, at least three years of professional experience playing French horn, and at least two years of teaching experience at the university, conservatory or community college level.
--OR--
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music, at least eight years of professional experience playing French horn, and at least two years of teaching experience at the university, conservatory or community college level.
• The applicant must possess a background that includes significant knowledge of solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire.
• The applicant is expected to have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
