Jr. Specialist position in the Neuroscience Research Institute
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2015
Salary: Based on UCSB Specialist Series salary table

Degree Requirements: Ph.D.

Position Description:
A position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas Weimbs to assist in the investigation of molecular mechanisms underlying polycystic kidney disease. Minimum qualifications: A doctoral degree in molecular and cellular biology or related field is required. Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience with methods and concepts in molecular cloning, protein biochemistry, cell biology, mouse disease models, pharmacological investigations, at least two years of relevant experience in the biotech industry, and several years of relevant experience in academic research. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, direct research students.

Salary Range: $36,432 per year, commensurate with experience. Initial appointment is for one year beginning as soon as July 1, 2015, full time with benefits. Continuation beyond one year will be based on performance and availability of funding.
