Position description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara is seeking applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in the field of Computer Engineering with a start date of Fall quarter, 2017.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and be able to demonstrate the ability to develop a highly successful independent research program, and participate effectively in the teaching of Computer Engineering curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants with a wide range of interests in Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply while research areas related to systems design, cloud computing, machine intelligence, and architecture will be given higher priority. Prospective candidates who wish to pursue interdisciplinary research efforts are encouraged to apply.

Applications must include: resume; cover letter; brief (2-page limit) statement of teaching philosophy; brief (2-page limit) statement of research interests; and at least three references (names and contact information only, letters to be solicited by the search committee).
