The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara invites applications for part-time Lecturers for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic year, summer 2018, and beyond (especially for the Spring 2018 quarter). A Master’s Degree or ABD is required, but Ph.D. is preferred, with at least one year of teaching experience.
Successful candidates will be hired to teach one or two courses listed in the Department’s current curricular offerings. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach Asian American queer studies, popular culture, transnationalism, communities, ethnographies, and visual culture. Candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service are particularly encouraged to apply.
