Position description

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a position in the sociology of culture, broadly construed, at the rank of Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2018. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Sociology, an active research agenda, and a strong commitment to quality teaching that complements one or more of the Department’s core areas of strength. Scholars using all methodological approaches are welcome to apply. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
