The Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach course(s) in Linguistics for the upcoming openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Lecturers teach lower- and upper-division courses, including introductory and advanced Linguistics courses. Linguistics department lecturers are integrally involved in program governance, development, and innovation. Professional development is supported and expected.
Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree in Linguistics and have at least one year teaching college-level linguistic courses. A Ph.D. in Linguistics is preferred but not required. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
