Assistant Project Scientist position in the Neuroscience Research Institute
Anticipated Start Date: January 2, 2018
Salary: Based on UCSB Project Scientist series salary table
A position is available for an Assistant Project Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Montell to conduct research on the molecular and neural mechanisms underlying behavior in the mosquito Aedes aegypti.
Minimum qualifications: A doctorate degree in Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology is required.
Preferred qualifications: One year of experience in working on Aedes aegypti is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in successfully using the CRISPR/Cas9 system in Aedes aegypti.
Initial appointment is for one year, full time with benefits. Continuation beyond one year will be based on performance and availability of funding.
