Position description

The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach course(s) in Sociology for the following course areas: Culture, Social Movements, Race/Ethnicity, Methods, Theory, Inequalities, and Gender Studies. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Positions may range from 33% to 100% time.

Applicants must possess a MA. in Sociology and be prepared to teach introductory courses, have an emphasis in one or more of the substantive areas noted above, and have at least one year of teaching experience.

The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching and service.
