AIM Photonics Postdoctoral Scholar
Appointment: 100% time, 1 year with possible extension

The Postdoctoral Researcher will develop novel integrated silicon photonics circuits for microwave photonic applications. This will include designing masks for modulators, couplers, filters; building optical bench test setup; fiber coupling to waveguides; measuring DC and RF properties of optical components; analyzing data and proposing new structures to develop.
PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
4+ years of experience conducting research in the field of integrated photonics (including research time as a graduate student).
Have published at least 3 papers on the subject in peer-reviewed journals. Expertise in designing and testing photonic circuits, including mask design for modulators, couplers, filters; building optical bench test setups; fiber coupling to waveguides and/or free-space optical alignment; measuring DC and RF properties of optical components; integrated circuit process design kits; the Cadence Virtuoso CAD environment; simulation tools for photonic devices.
