Position description

The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in general Physics or Astronomy during the 2018-19 academic year, including summer session. Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the department for the 2018-19 academic year, including Summer Session 2018.

Main duties will include teaching courses in general physics and astronomy, with the possibility of occasional upper-division teaching opportunities. Applicants should have at least an MA in Physics or Astronomy and teaching experience at the college level.

The position will remain open until October 31, 2018. The pool will close at that time; if you would like to continue to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application. Appointments for Fall quarter are usually reviewed in June, winter quarter in September, and Spring quarter review will begin in January.
