Lecturer in bilingual education, Teacher Education Program (TEP)
Reports to: Dr. Andrew Fedders, TEP Director
Positions: Open until filled
Primary Consideration: February 14, 2019

Applications are invited for possible openings for a part-time lecturer positions at the University of California, Santa Barbara to teach a bilingual education course in the Teacher Education Program. This appointment is for one academic quarter, with the possibility of reappointment. Salary is based on UCSB salary scales.

Responsibilities:
Instructors are expected to attend all class sessions, read and evaluate student assignments, and assign grades adhering to all department deadlines. Additionally, instructors are expected to attend all program faculty meetings, faculty retreats, and participate in accreditation activities to help meet California Accreditation for our program.

Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Education or related field at the time of application
• Written and spoken fluency in Spanish
• Minimum of one quarter/semester of teaching experience at the college level by the time of appointment
• Preferred: Experience working in teacher education or K-12 education with BCLAD
• Preferred: Familiarity with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) and Teacher Performance Expectations (TPE)
• Preferred: Experience teaching in a bilingual K-12 school
