Lecturer: Comparative Literature Program

DESCRIPTION

The Comparative Literature Program at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in the Comparative Literature Program for upcoming openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department.

Qualifications:
• Basic: ABD or equivalent and at least one year of teaching experience in a college or university at the time of application.
• Additional: completion of the Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in Comparative Literature or other cognate fields by the start date of the position.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, statement of teaching experience and philosophy, and contact information for 3 references. Teaching evaluations are optional (and will be required for finalists).

The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
