Position description

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach undergraduate or graduate in all areas of Mechanical Engineering. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The availability of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Positions may range from 33% to 100% time.

The university/department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
The posting will remain open until March 31, 2025 to accommodate department needs. If you would like to continue to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

An M.S. and a demonstrated record of teaching excellence is preferred.

  • Statement of Contributions to Diversity - These statements, if submitted, will be reviewed for evidence of teaching contributions that promote diversity and equal opportunity, such as effective strategies used for the educational advancement of students in various under-represented groups; demonstrated contributions to the advancement of equitable access and diversity in education; and contributions furthering diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through participation in such activities as teaching and mentoring students.
