Position description

The Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach course(s) in Linguistics and/or related clinical/applied fields. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed for any upcoming openings. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Lecturers teach lower- and upper-division courses, including introductory and
advanced Linguistics courses and, in some cases, graduate-level courses.

The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and/or service, as appropriate to the position. The posting will remain open until March 31, 2025 to accommodate department needs. Appointments for fall quarter are usually reviewed in July, winter quarter in November, and spring quarter in February. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Master's Degree in Linguistics or a related field

Preferred qualifications

A Ph.D. in Linguistics is preferred but not required
Demonstrated talent for teaching undergraduate students
At least one year of experience in teaching college-level linguistics courses.
