Position description

The Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach undergraduate statistics, data science, or probability for upcoming openings. Teaching duties include a range of introductory and upper-division courses. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Positions may be either full-time or part-time.

Salary is based on UC’s salary scales and depends on qualifications and experience.

The university is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must possess a post-graduate degree (Master's or higher, or equivalent degree i.e. International degree equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

Documented experience (at least 1 year of lecturing experience) in teaching Statistics or a related field at the college level. A PhD (or equivalent) by the time of appointment.
