Position description

The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at UCSB invites applications for our lecturer pool, focusing on Biochemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Microbiology. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. We aim to enrich our academic community with broad perspectives and innovative teaching. This opportunity is ideal for educators enthusiastic about employing modern pedagogies to meet the varied needs of a wide range of academic backgrounds, thereby enhancing learning experiences and academic excellence.

The posting will remain open until March 31, 2027, to accommodate our department needs. The pool will close on March 31, 2027; if you would like to continue to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

At a minimum, applicants must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. (or equivalent) except the dissertation (or equivalent) in Molecular or Cellular Sciences, or related field.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent in Molecular or Cellular Sciences, or related field by the time of appointment.

Preferred qualifications

Teaching experience at the college level in a related field is preferred
