Position description

The Department of Music at UC Santa Barbara seeks to appoint a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer position at the University of California Santa Barbara beginning Fall 2026 to teach Oud, leading the small group lesson course.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching Oud.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience teaching in a higher education or post-secondary institution
• Subject matter expertise in Oud performance, demonstrated through training or professional
experience.
• Knowledge of the history and cultural significance of Oud music.
